ALICE IN WONDERLAND

The Alice in Wonderland ballet follows the whimsical adventures of a young girl named Alice, who tumbles down a rabbit hole into a fantastical world. There, she encounters a host of peculiar characters, including the enigmatic Cheshire Cat, the eccentric Mad Hatter, and the tyrannical Queen of Hearts. As Alice navigates this strange land, filled with surreal and magical elements, she experiences a series of bizarre and delightful episodes, each more curious than the last.

In the second act, the ballet intensifies with a dramatic croquet game under the watchful eye of the Queen of Hearts, who is quick to demand executions at the slightest whim. Alice's journey continues as she tries to make sense of the nonsensical rules of Wonderland, eventually finding herself in a courtroom where she is accused of a crime she did not commit. The ballet culminates in a chaotic trial scene, with Alice challenging the absurdity of the Wonderland court. Ultimately, she awakens from her dream-like adventure, left to ponder the curious and captivating world she encountered. The ballet is a vivid portrayal of fantasy and imagination, brought to life through enchanting choreography and vibrant storytelling.

This is the third presentation of AYBT’s Alice in Wonderland (2017 and 2020). Tickets go on sale September 1.
