Part Three: What sets AYBT Academy apart from other dance schools?
AYBT Academy was founded by Lou Ann Young and has been in business for more than 50 years teaching children the art of dance. The school and her staff are dedicated to nurturing a love of the arts in young children through education, dance, and performance opportunities.
Our academy instructors are comprised of former students and colleges of our founder, Ms. Young and the current directorship. Our staff have backgrounds in professional dance careers and/or degrees in dance. Dancers learn ballet, pointe, pas de deux, tap, jazz, and modern in classic dance techniques.
Our academy feeds into our pre-professional ballet company, Anderson Young Ballet Theatre. Our ballet company presents 2 full length story ballets each season for our older dancers. These performances are professionally set and produced to give each dancer a complete dance education. Our academy produces a recital for all students of our school to complete the educational year of learning.
Our older dancers have the opportunity to participate in our class demonstrator program. Teen students help demonstrate with young classes as mentors to our young dancers. These opportunities foster future dance instructors in college programs.
